Avi Barath is a multi-talented producer, writer, musical director and performer. He excels in all areas of musical formation, with a natural aptitude for creating exciting musical experiences with collectives and artists.
Born in Boston and growing up in Tel Aviv, Avi was drawn to music from a young age, playing several instruments, studying classical music, and developing a diverse and wide understanding of various styles and genres.
In 2011 he moved to London to study Popular Music at Goldsmiths University, and quickly integrated himself into the thriving scene in South East London, establishing his reputation as a specialist with synthesis and live electronics, and becoming a sought after creator and collaborator.
Following his graduation, Avi began his long standing collaborative relationship with award winning songwriter and producer Dave Okumu. Avi and Dave combine their talents and continue to work together regularly at Unit 9 in South East London, where they both have their studio spaces.
Avi’s musical directing credits include Loyle Carner, Arlo Parks, Jai Paul, Pa Salieu, Berwyn, Kindness, Jessie Ware, Bakar, Rae Morris and many more.
As a producer/songwriter he has worked with Wesley Joseph and Jorja Smith, Dave Okumu, Duval Timothy, Rosie Lowe, Rachel Chinouriri, Eska, Carmody and Alfa Mist to name a few.
